We had a great time this year. 32 folks went, 13 adults and 19 kids. We came back with a new brother. Jonah Fisher decided to take the plunge and was baptized Sunday Morning, September 5th.
The theme for this years Sonquest, the Ride, was taken from 1 Timothy 6: 17-19.
"Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life."
This is our second year in our new family oriented format. We decided to make Sonquest a family friendly event. We encourage whole families to attend the weekend in Orlando as a time to grow together. The Mandarin body has determined to make Sonquest an event supported by the congregation to enable all who want to go to be able to do so. In addition, this year we had a special event at the end of trip. Due to the generosity of several of our members, we all went to the GoKart track and spent time running around and into each other.
